12th European Congress of Trauma & Emergency Surgery

Reaching out to populations trapped by conflict in Congo
 In North Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, violent conflict persists between government forces and an array of military groups. The frontlines between different armed actors constantly shift, and local people are trapped in the middle – often cut off from medical care. In and around Pinga, an MSF team has been reaching out to populations trapped by the conflict by running mobile clinics via motorbike and providing medical services to people who have no other hope of getting medical care.
Médecins Sans Frontières does not only help victims of conflict and war but provides independent medical emergency aid in around 65 countries all over the world. The organization helps people in need affected by natural disasters, nutrition crises, diseases and epidemics.
Médecins Sans Frontières is always looking for dedicated medical and non-medical staff for its aids programs. Requirements: completed education and at least two years professional experience, language skills. Further information and slideshow about the project in North Kivu at
