MEETING OF THE EUROPEAN PANCREATIC CLUB (EPC) 22nd –
25th June 2011 •

theme: Clinical and basic science of inflammatory
and malignant pancreatic disorders

As longstanding tradition
in the EPC meetings the programme committee will organise
a meeting in which research highlights will be presented
including all fields from molecular and cellular to clinical
pancreatology. At this year’s meeting more than 350
participants are expected and especially, young scientists
are called to present their research work.
The EPC annual meeting will
take place from 22nd June, afternoon, to 24th June. The meeting
will include symposia with state-of-the-art-lectures, which
will be given by international experts and leading pancreas
surgeons and gastroenterologists from Germany and Europe.
These lectures will be complemented by selected oral presentations,
generated out of the approximately 300 abstracts that will
be submitted.
On Saturday, 25th June, the
special workshop “Cell death mechanisms in pancreatic
diseases” will be organised. The workshop is a teaching
course in all fields of cell death mechanisms directed to
any researcher in pancreatology. The workshop is a UEGF
endorsed activity.

Doctors without
borders live in austria
Behind the scenes of the medical
aid organization
For
40 years Doctors without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières
(MSF) has been providing independent medical care in conflict
areas all around the world. On the occasion of this anniversary
Médecins Sans Frontières is touring through Austria to thank
its supporters with a variety of events.
The program consists of
screenings of the documentary “Living in Emergency”
(English version with German subtitles), presentations with
personal accounts of MSF field workers, recruitment information
sessions and the exhibit “Refugee camp in the heart
of the city”.
Admission
to all events is free.
In May Médecins Sans Frontières
is going to visit Innsbruck, Vienna and Salzburg, followed
by events in Lienz, Klagenfurt, Linz, Leoben, St. Pölten,
Feldkirch and finally again in Vienna in December 2011.
