XIV. Humanitarian Congress Berlin

Tough Choices – Ethical Challenges in Humanitarian Action
The Humanitarian Congress in Berlin is an international platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas related to humanitarian action. Each year, the congress brings together leading experts from international humanitarian and medical organisations, academia, politics, and the media as well as a large number of students from different areas of study.
This year’s congress seeks to address topics including humanitarian action in authoritarian states, medical aid in detention centres, and the question if humanitarian aid prolongs war as well as medical issues such as the treatment of non-communicable diseases in humanitarian programmes. The congress is organised by Medecins Sans Frontieres, Medecins Du Monde, the German Red Cross, the Berlin Chamber of Physicians and the Charité.
