Entain prepares to storm the Dutch market

The gambling company Entain has applied for a license from the Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa). The company expects to go live on the Dutch gaming market next summer. Entain is a big name in the casino world and has casinos such as Bwin, Ladbrokes, and PartyPoker. In addition, Entain recently released very positive figures for the calendar year 2021. Entain also managed to gain a foothold in the U.S. market in the past year.

Entain's annual figures also repeatedly focus on the Dutch gaming market. At the end of September 2021, the company was forced to withdraw its sites with Dragon Tiger casino from the Netherlands. Strict action was taken against illegal gaming providers. Entain was not granted a license at the beginning of October but hopes to receive one from the Kansspelautoriteit this summer.

Entain applies for a license in the Netherlands

Entain is one of the largest gambling companies in the world and was expected to enter the Dutch market soon. However, Entain itself remained rather unclear, but that recently changed. The gambling company confirmed to have applied for a license with the Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) for the first time.

"We have since applied for a new license and are waiting for the next steps in the license allocation procedure, which is expected to be completed around the middle of 2022," Entain said.

Brands of Entain

Entain is a large-scale gaming company with multiple brands in its portfolio. It is unclear for now which brands have applied for a license. Some of Entain's well-known brands include Bwin, Ladbrokes, Coral, BETMGM, Partypoker, Gala Bingo, Foxy Games, PartyCasino, The Best Shows of Our Time, and Casino Las Vegas. It seems quite likely that at least Bwin will enter the Dutch market in 2022.
