The World Microbe Forum is breaking barriers to sharing science and addressing the most pressing challenges facing humankind today. That’s why this year, ASM Microbe and FEMS Congress 2021 will be part of this unique event.
Explore the hottest topics in microbiology – from new infectious pathogens like SARS-CoV-2, antimicrobial resistance and the role of microbes in climate change, to agriculture and food microbiology, and synthetic and applied microbiology – discussed like never before, and offering unparalleled access to the latest innovative research across global perspectives.

In addition, satellite events and sessions will extend the conversation to policy makers and members of the public.
- Live sessions will be presented fully in real-time. Speakers will present live during the date and time listed in their invitation and take questions via video from the audience.
- Interactive sessions will have a live component, including video or text Q&A with presenters and text chatting with other attendees. Interactive sessions have a scheduled start time and are programmed on channels. Speakers will be present during the entirety of the sessions to answer text questions during the recorded portion and respond on video during the live Q&A segment at the end of the recorded presentations.
- On-demand sessions are pre-recorded presentations. On-demand sessions will be released each day and be available for 24/7 viewing. FEMS on-demand sessions will be released daily at 6 a.m. CET and ASM on-demand sessions will be released daily at 6 a.m. EDT. On-demand sessions do not have a live component and speakers are not required to be available when the sessions air.
