Advanced Wilderness Life Support Course in Mexico

AWLS2nd to 10th November, Tlachichuca, Mexico

Join our 4 day AWLS course in the heart of Mexico with an optional 4 day Orizaba Summit Climb after the completion of the course. Fly into Mexico City for the first night, then we will travel through the desert and trek into the forest while teaching AWLS in an outdoor setting. After completion of the course, you can either return to Mexico City or join the SOS professional guides to climb the glaciated volcano to the summit of Pico de Orizaba 5,636m/18,419 ft., the highest mountain in Mexico and the 3rd highest mountain in North America. A great way to learn and practice wilderness medicine with like-minded individuals. (NOTE: The Orizaba Climb is not endorsed or required to get your AWLS certification and is not affiliated with AdventureMed or AWLS in any way). Completing this course you will:

– Learn the latest practical hands-on wilderness medical skills for patient assessment, stabilization and evacuation.
– Practice your skills in live scenarios.
– Work with our expert faculty.
– Earn your AWLS® certification accredited by the University of Utah School of Medicine.
– Obtain up to 27.5 hours of CME or Fellowship credits from the Wilderness Medical Society

The AWLS® program focuses on treatment of the most common injuries and illnesses encountered making the AWLS® certification the standard in the medical industry for wilderness medicine. This course offers intensive practical skills.
