After their successful launch in 2023, the deep dive days will again be featured at CIRSE 2024, providing attendees with the opportunity to completely immerse themselves into a specific topic over the course of one day. Our first deep dive will be on arterial topics, covering everything there is to know about arterial interventions from CLI treatment to complex PAD interventions.
A new and surely very interesting topic will be the endovascular treatment of erectile dysfunction. Also of note: a focus session honing in on below-the ankle revascularization. The expert round tables will complete our arterial deep dive with presentations and subsequent discussions on the ideal femoropopliteal scaffold and the treatment of acute mesenteric ischaemia, respectively.
Deep dive: Venous
We will also take a deep dive into venous topics, with a great number of fantastic sessions lined up for IRs practicing in this field or wishing to add venous interventions to their practice. Of particular note; a multidisciplinary session on female pelvic venous disease presenting both the gynaecological and IR perspective on the subject. Another venous highlight not to be missed will be the focus session on IVC reconstruction scrutinizing the aspects of filter-associated as well as tumour-related IVC occlusions. At a dedicated round table session, a group of renowned experts will present on the aetiology, anatomical considerations, and appropriate tools for thoracic central vein recanalization which will surely be followed by a lively debate with the lecturers taking questions from the audience.
Interventional oncology
Needless to say, interventional oncology will be another important topic track at CIRSE 2024. Several sessions will focus on MSK interventions and HCC treatment, but we will also look at new frontiers of IO, such as breast cancer, where IR was previously not thought to play an important role, local pancreatic cancer treatments, renal cell carcinoma, and the very up and coming topic of thyroid interventions.
