New strategies for operating and management of Mountain Search and Rescue Operations
The International Commission for Alpine Rescue ICAR, is a not for profit NGO set up with the prime purpose of ensuring best practice in mountain rescue techniques.
There are 5 commissions tasked with researching and developing skills in specific areas these are:
Information is shared amongst mountain rescue services around the world via its platform, research papers, ICAR member lobbying and finally via a yearly congress.
This year, 2022, the Swiss Alpine rescue service SAS has been asked to host the event in Montreux.
