Why an MBA and courses in International Health Management?
Strong and compassionate leaders are needed to build and shape sustainable and equitable health systems capable of responding to rapidly changing health needs. For 10 years, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Health Management has prepared professionals for leadership and management positions in a variety of health care settings.
These include positions in NGOs, International- and UN- Organisations, hospitals, government organisations and ministries, and the pharmaceutical sector. The programme is offered by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), a world-leading institute in global health, associated with the University of Basel.
Flexible study mode for busy professionals
The MBA programme and our courses in International Health Management are very flexible and designed to meet the needs of working professionals. You can start at any time, progress at your own pace, and pay as you go. Many parts of the programme are delivered at a distance in a blended learning mode, to permit personalised learning; some parts are offered in an onsite/hybrid format to allow for intensive knowledge sharing, facilitation by topical experts, and professional networking. All modules of the MBA programme can be taken as stand-alone courses.
A new generation of managers and leaders in global health
Health systems are becoming more complex and costly, placing additional demands on health personnel at all levels. To respond to health system challenges worldwide, a new generation of leaders is needed, one that has profound knowledge of and practical skills in public health, health economics, business administration and financial management and that can work in multicultural and transdisciplinary settings. The MBA programme and courses in International Health Management at Swiss TPH invites learners to be part of this new generation, preparing them to impact health systems locally, internationally and globally, with a special focus on low- and middle-income countries.
