17th to 21st September 2018, Bielefeld, GermanyThe Summer School addresses students from e.g. public health, health communication, education, sociology, psychology, as well as PhD candidates working on health-related research questions.
The 3rd HLCA Summer School on Health Literacy will provide both a general and a specific overview on theoretical and practical evidence regarding health literacy. Participants will be introduced into:
1. health literacy research in general with a focus on:
- conceptual and methodological considerations;
- the use of measurement methods and data analysis;
- intervention studies:
a) mental health literacy;
b) e-health and digital health literacy;
c) general health literacy; - health literacy policy-making and social issues;
- advocacy for health literacy and health literacy champions, including skill development;
- health literate organisation, settings and health literacy friendly approaches;
2. methods and ethics of childhood research and research with children;
3. health literacy research with children.
