Forensic Nursing - Nursing care in a forensic setting

Kursinhalte

Nursing staff are enabled to use their in-depth knowledge to recognize people affected by violence in daily practice, to secure evidence and to carry out the corresponding standardized documentation. They are trained to deal with forensically challenging situations in a sensitive and critically reflective manner and to use their communication skills to de-escalate the process of assisting victims in emergency situations.

Zielpublikum

The university course is aimed at persons who have a professional qualification in the higher service for health care and nursing or an equivalent recognized (international) qualification within the meaning of the GuKG as amended.

Qualifikationen

Proof of professional authorization in the higher service for health care and nursing or an equivalent, recognized (international) authorization within the meaning of the GuKG as amended.

Zertifizierung

Degree certificate from the Medical University of Graz and a certificate in accordance with § 19 GuK-WV, which entitles the holder to use the additional title “Forensics in Nursing” in brackets after the professional title. (cf. § 11 para. 2 GuKG as amended).
